Brain-Injury Advocate

I began writing on disability after a life-changing concussion.

While lying in a dark room and unable to read, I started speaking my story into my phone.

Since then, I’ve written and spoken about my experiences living with brain injury, from the loss of self and unbearable grief to the rebuilding of relationships and the re-imagination of a different kind of life.

Current headlines have focused on men’s football, but rarely do we hear from the everyday people who are suffering from mental, cognitive, and physical limitations as a result of a random fall or car accident or an unintended elbow to the head.
